Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Centre at Hammoud Hospital
Through its partnership with Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center, Give a Child a Brighter Future is helping provide life-saving care to children across South Lebanon, ensuring that young patients facing cancer can access the treatment they urgently need.
At the heart of this effort is the Lisa Moufarrige Paediatric Haematology Oncology Center, a dedicated facility designed to expand access to specialised care while offering children and their families renewed hope during some of life’s most difficult moments.
The centre is named in loving memory of Lisa Moufarrige (1969–2023), a deeply valued committee member whose compassion, dedication, and tireless work with the charity helped make this project possible. Her legacy lives on through the children and families who now receive vital care at the centre.
A Dedicated Space for Treatment and Care
Since opening in October 2023, the centre has provided a welcoming, fully equipped space designed to support children through complex treatments.
The facility includes seven specialised patient rooms, infusion and inpatient treatment areas, procedure rooms for medical interventions, and a dedicated dialysis unit for children.
By bringing these services together under one roof, the centre allows children to receive essential care closer to home, easing the burden on families and ensuring greater continuity throughout their treatment journey.
Growing Impact
Since opening, the centre has supported a growing number of children diagnosed with serious haematological and oncological conditions. In 2024, it welcomed 24 new paediatric oncology cases, each receiving personalised treatment and care. By 2025, that number had risen to 47 new cases, highlighting both the increasing need for specialised services and the vital role the centre now plays in the region.
Alongside oncology care, the centre also runs a paediatric dialysis program, providing ongoing support for children requiring specialised renal treatment. The hospital has also collaborated with the charity on additional life-saving interventions, including participation in complex procedures such as open-heart surgery, reflecting a broader commitment to supporting vulnerable children and their families.

A Future Filled with Hope
For many children, access to this centre means the chance to receive treatment, regain strength, and look ahead to the future with hope. With the right care and support, children facing serious illness are given the opportunity not only to survive, but to heal, grow, and reclaim their childhood.
Each child who walks through the doors of the centre is a reminder of why this work matters and of what can be achieved when compassion, partnership, and dedication come together.
